The flood situation in Sylhet and Noakhali regions of the country has taken a dire shape. People of all classes and professions of the country should stand together and stand beside the flood victims as far as possible. Those who are able to stay physically can go to flood affected areas and stand by the people as volunteers.
There are separate spaces of prayer for men and women, and arrangements for Qur'anic lessons, mosque-based education for general public and various Dawah activities in the Abdullah Jahangir As-Sunnah Mosque Complex. It is an ideal mosque as it is carrying out multifaceted beneficial activities to fulfill the demands of this day and age.
As-Sunnah Trust spends money for running mosque-based Moktob, education, research, training, study-materials, renovation and maintenance of Madrasah, Dawah and other related works. We seek everyone's help in the form of donation to expedite these benevolent works.
The regular donation of our avid donators works as a driving force behind the education, higher studies and research, training, humanitarian works of the Trust.
Zakah is an obligatory act of worship like Salah. The purpose of Zakah is to eradicate poverty and purify wealth. Zakah should be given in such a way that it fits into the categories of Zakah stipulated by Allah and alleviates the society, the nation and the world from poverty. It is of paramount importance as far as eradicating poverty from the society is concerned.
In 2011 (1432 H), a Zakah-based medical service project was initiated for the helpless, poor and impoverished people. Prescriptions and medicines are provided at free of cost through M.B.B.S-holders and specialist physicians every week. Besides, we have been providing Homeopathy medical service since 2013.
As-Sunnah Trust is always striving to help people who are afflicted by calamities such as flood. We have tried to help such people during disasters in the past in Sylhet, Sunamgonj and other regions. We require donations and supplications from everyone so that we can continue to carry out those activities during such disastrous times.
The total monthly cost of maintenance of an orphan is 6,000 Taka. A donor may give the total amount required for the whole year at once. Please note that the donor will be informed about the health, education, overall progress and condition of that orphan once every six months in black and white, InshaAllah.
There are two types of charity: general charity and perpetual charity. If one gives charity, his tribulations get removed and his wealth increases. Charity extinguishes the wrath of Allah. Providing financial assistance to the orphans and needy is undoubtedly an act of perpetual charity, the rewards of which will continue to be generated until the end of times.
Islam is a religion of peace and humanity. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) has likened the Muslim community to a single body. When one leads a comfortable life while someone else is leading a miserable life, it is contrary to justice and fairness. Hence, As-Sunnah Trust has embarked on a project to rehabilitate the destitute and helpless people.
